Nidec Suffers ¥564.6B Net Loss Amid Ongoing Accounting Scandals

Nidec Corp., a major Japanese motor maker embroiled in accounting and quality irregularity scandals, suffered a net loss of 564.6 billion yen in fiscal 2025.

The consolidated net loss was attributed to an impairment loss of 632.2 billion yen, as reported by the company's securities report submitted to the Kanto Regional Finance Bureau on Wednesday.

An audit company issued a disclaimer of opinion on the report, which is not uncommon in cases where there are significant accounting irregularities or disputes.
