Nigerian-Born AI Leader Abel Aboh Recognized on Foundever AI 100 UK List

A Nigerian-born AI leader has been recognized for his contributions to practical AI use in the UK. Abel Aboh, a Data Management and AI leader at the Bank of England, is one of 100 people named on the Foundever AI 100 UK 2026 list. This annual celebration recognizes individuals making a real difference with AI, whether through building tools, adopting them well, shaping policy, or helping others do the same.

Aboh's nomination comes alongside other recognitions and leadership roles. He was a finalist for British Data Leader of the Year 2021 and has served as a judge for the British Data Awards. Aboh is also involved in education and board-level activities in Scotland, including initiatives documenting the contributions of Black communities.

The Foundever AI 100 UK list aims to recognize innovators, practitioners, and change-makers turning AI's promise into real, responsible impact. This year's list includes individuals from business, government, academia, and the third sector who are using AI in practical ways.

Aboh holds degrees in Human Resource Management from Strathclyde Business School and the University of Lincoln, and has undertaken further studies in data ethics, AI, responsible innovation, and space data for financial services at the University of Edinburgh. He is passionate about data, technology, education, diversity, inclusion, social mobility, and youth empowerment.
