Nikkei 225 Surges Ahead of Fed and BOJ Decisions
The Nikkei 225 closed Wednesday's session at 63,923 points, up 0.69% from Tuesday's close of 63,484.10.
The advance was driven in part by futures-led buying ahead of the Federal Reserve's policy decision and the Bank of Japan's rate announcement on Friday.
The broader TOPIX index also rebounded, rising 0.6% to 4,061.72, but trading volume remained thin at approximately 5.08 trillion yen.
Gains were led by strength in real estate, banking, and textile sectors, with notable performers including Eneos Holdings, Dainippon Screen Manufacturing, and Idemitsu Kosan.
