Nippon Life Puts $16B into US Data Centre Financing
Japan's Nippon Life Insurance plans to invest two trillion yen ($16.27 billion) in infrastructure financing, including data centre construction in the United States.
The insurer will use project finance arrangements to secure loans, which will be repaid using cash flows generated by the underlying projects.
Nikkei Asia reported that Nippon Life sees US project-finance investments as offering attractive spreads of more than two per cent on average, helping to diversify its investment portfolio.
