No Certainty on Fed Rate Hike in September, Invesco Warns
Invesco's Global Market Strategist for Asia Pacific, Zhao Yaoting, believes that a September rate hike by the Federal Reserve is not yet certain. This comes after the Jackson Hole Global Central Bank Symposium raised market expectations for a rate hike.
Zhao Yaoting noted that while the symposium was seen as hawkish, Federal Reserve Governor Waller's comments were significant and did not explicitly signal a September rate increase.
The upcoming inflation and labor market data will be critical in determining the next steps of the Federal Reserve. If the disinflationary process stalls, the door remains open for further monetary tightening.
