NZ Offers Apple Horticulture Expertise to Himachal Pradesh

New Zealand is offering technical expertise to boost apple horticulture in Himachal Pradesh. The state's Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu emphasized the importance of strengthening the horticulture sector and apple production.

The New Zealand delegation, led by High Commissioner Patrick Rata, discussed organizing exposure visits for farmers and promoting natural farming. A proposed Centre of Excellence for apple horticulture was also presented in detail.

The chief minister stressed that apple production plays a significant role in Himachal Pradesh's economy and highlighted the need to adopt new technology and innovation to boost the sector. He welcomed New Zealand's offer of technical expertise, which is seen as a key step towards promoting apple cultivation in the state.
