The S&P/NZX 50 Index fluctuated between 13,760.81 and 13,8563.25 before closing at 13,811.11, down 0.1% or 13.72 points from the previous day's close.
The NZ dollar also saw significant movement, reaching a 10-month low of US$56.53c, after briefly touching $56.58c in November.
