NZD Weakness Persists Amid Stronger-Than-Expected GDP Data
The New Zealand Dollar has continued to weaken below 0.5750 despite better-than-expected GDP data released on Thursday.
The country's economy grew by 0.2% QoQ in Q2, beating the expected 0.1% rise and coming in stronger than a 0.9% expansion in Q1.
Despite this positive news, the NZD/USD pair falls to near 0.5725 during the early Asian session on Thursday.
The US Initial Jobless Claims data is due later on Thursday, and the Fed's rate hike and comments from Chairman Kevin Warsh may provide some support to the Greenback and act as a headwind for the pair in the near term.
