Oaktree Capital's Marks Advocates for a Less Activist Federal Reserve
Howard Marks, co-chair of Oaktree Capital Management, has expressed his preference for a less activist Federal Reserve under Chair Kevin Warsh. Speaking on Bloomberg This Weekend, Marks stated that he favors a central bank that allows the economy to function normally unless it's at risk of significant downturn or overheating.
Marks' comments come as Warsh seeks to reduce guidance from the Fed, which he believes has constrained its ability to act effectively in recent years. By adopting a more hands-off approach, the Fed can avoid being seen as overly interventionist and allow market forces to take hold.
