OMERS Admin Buys Big Stake in CIBC Amid Wall Street Optimism
OMERS Administration Corp has made a significant investment in Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce (CIBC), according to its latest 13F filing with the SEC. The firm bought approximately $169.36 million worth of CIBC shares, representing 1.0% of OMERS' portfolio.
This is not an isolated instance; several other institutional investors have also increased their stakes in CIBC over the past quarter. Wall Street analysts have varying opinions on CIBC's performance. Royal Bank Of Canada lifted its price target from $147 to $167 with an 'outperform' rating, while Jefferies Financial Group maintained a 'hold' rating. Scotiabank also reissued an 'outperform' rating.
CIBC reported a revenue increase of 14% year-over-year in the recent quarter and exceeded analyst estimates. The company's quarterly dividend was announced at $1.07 per share, representing a yield of 3.7%. OMERS Administration Corp now holds approximately 0.16% of CIBC's outstanding shares.
