Ondo Finance Hires Regulatory Veteran Allison Parent Amid Tokenization Boom
Ondo Finance has made a significant move in its bid to establish itself as a major player in the tokenized asset space. The company has appointed Allison Parent, a veteran of traditional financial regulation, as its chief policy officer.
Parent brings with her extensive experience in banking, market structure, and government regulation. She previously served as executive director of the Global Financial Markets Association and held senior policy positions at Barclays and the Bank of England.
Ondo's decision to hire Parent is a reflection of its growing presence in conventional finance. The company has expanded from offering tokenized U.S. government debt to providing institutional products, including OUSG, which offers exposure to short-term U.S. Treasuries, and Ondo Global Markets, a platform for blockchain-based equities.
The growth of Ondo's business has made securities regulation increasingly important. With about $2 billion in total value locked across its Treasury products and $1 billion in tokenized equity businesses, the company is now facing questions about how to distribute, trade, and hold tokenized securities at scale without creating separate market structures that conflict with conventional rules.
