Ontario's PC government is taking steps to protect workers and businesses from President Trump's tariffs. Through the Canada-Ontario Workforce Tariff Response, Ontario is investing over $228 million over three years in Skills Advance Ontario. This program aims to help up to 27,000 workers retrain and upgrade their skills in tariff-impacted industries such as steel, automotive, and manufacturing.

Nearly $27 million has already been allocated to 13 Skills Advance Ontario projects, supporting almost 2,000 workers. These projects focus on helping people build the skills employers need in affected industries. Additionally, over $8 million has been invested in 10 POWER Centres, which provide employment services, training, and other supports directly to workers and families.

These investments are part of Ontario's broader plan to protect workers and strengthen its workforce in the face of President Trump's tariffs. According to the PC government, these measures will help workers build new skills and prepare for rewarding careers, ultimately contributing to a stronger economy.
