OSFI Names Jing Yang as Deputy Superintendent
Jing Yang has joined the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions (OSFI) as Deputy Superintendent, Risk, Strategy and Policy. This appointment was announced by Superintendent Peter Routledge in April 2026.
Yang's role will involve leading OSFI's regulatory modernization efforts to support financial resilience, competition, and economic growth. She will oversee policy and guideline development, risk surveillance and quantification, strategic planning, enterprise risk management, finance, procurement and contracting, and data and governance functions.
Yang has a strong background in financial stability and risk assessment, having previously led the Bank of Canada's Financial Stability Department. She also represented the Bank of Canada on the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision (BCBS) and co-chaired its Task Force on Basel III evaluation.
