Pakistani Rupee Continues Streak Euro Drops Near Rs. 300
The Pakistani rupee (PKR) continued its impressive streak, closing in the green against the US dollar (USD) for the 254th day in a row on Monday. The PKR closed at 277.06, gaining one paisa against the USD, suggesting it could soon strengthen to 276. The rupee has been on a consistent upward trend against the dollar since December 25, 2025.
Meanwhile, the Euro (EUR) has seen a significant shift, nearing Rs. 300 after previously being close to Rs. 350 just a few weeks ago. The PKR gained 88 paisas against the EUR, reflecting its broader strengthening against major currencies. However, it lost 71 paisas against the British Pound (GBP) and 60 paisas against the Australian Dollar (AUD).
In other currency movements, the PKR gained 12 paisas against the Canadian Dollar (CAD) and remained stable against the Saudi Riyal (SAR). It also gained one paisa against the UAE Dirham (AED). These fluctuations highlight the dynamic nature of the currency markets and the PKR's varying performance against different major currencies.
