Pakistani Rupee Holds Steady Against Major Currencies on October 4
Pakistan’s foreign exchange market showed stability on October 4, 2026, with the US dollar maintaining its position near the Rs278 mark in the open market. Major currencies, including the euro, British pound, UAE dirham, and Saudi riyal, continued to trade at elevated levels against the Pakistani rupee.
As of October 6, the US dollar was being sold at Rs278.30. The euro was quoted at Rs312.48 for buying and Rs319.10 for selling, while the British pound stood at Rs366.98 and Rs372.73, respectively. The UAE dirham was trading at Rs75.75 for buying and Rs76.60 for selling, and the Saudi riyal was at Rs74.05 and Rs74.60, respectively.
The open-market foreign exchange rates in Pakistan remained broadly stable, with key currencies such as the US dollar, euro, British pound, UAE dirham, and Saudi riyal being closely monitored. The dollar hovered around Rs278, while the pound remained above Rs370.
Other notable exchange rates included the Australian dollar at Rs192.22 for buying and Rs198.05 for selling, the Bahrain dinar at Rs734.25 and Rs746.29, and the Canadian dollar at Rs193.93 and Rs199.25. The Chinese yuan was quoted at Rs38.30 and Rs38.92, while the Japanese yen stood at Rs1.7342 and Rs1.8339.
