Peters Accuses Swarbrick of Ignorance Over Paris Accord

New Zealand First leader Winston Peters has accused Green Party co-leader Chloe Swarbrick of ignorance over her stance on the Paris Agreement.

Swarbrick had released a press statement criticizing Peters for not seeking advice on withdrawing from the agreement, which Peters claims is incorrect as it's actually the Minister for Climate Change and Minister for Trade who are responsible for those areas.

Peters points out that Swarbrick has been in parliament for a long time but still seems to have learned nothing.

He argues that around 60% of global CO2 emissions come from four countries, while New Zealand's emissions amount to only 0.17%, making it unnecessary to abide by the Paris Agreement obligations which could cost the economy up to $22 billion in taxpayers' money being sent offshore.
