Pokémon Company Donates $611,000 to Japanese Earthquake Relief
The Pokémon Company has stepped in to support Japan's earthquake relief efforts by donating $611,000 to affected areas.
The magnitude 6.8 earthquake hit southwestern Japan on July 28, causing widespread damage and at least 34 deaths.
In a statement, The Pokémon Company pledged to donate 100 million yen to Kumamoto Prefecture and the Japanese Red Cross Society.
This is not the first time the company has supported disaster-stricken communities in Japan, having previously done so through its POKEMON with YOU initiative.
