Pound Fails to Bounce Off Three-Month Lows Amid Global Bond Rout
The British Pound (GBP) is struggling to break above three-month lows against the US Dollar (USD), with the GBP/USD pair trading near 1.3200 on Friday.
This marks a fifth consecutive weekly decline for the Pound, as investors focus on the upcoming US Nonfarm Payrolls report, which is expected to show 90,000 new jobs created in September, according to market consensus.
The ADP Employment Change report earlier this week exceeded expectations, boosting hopes for a strong payrolls reading. However, recent inflation data has cooled expectations of a Federal Reserve interest rate hike in October.
