Pound Tumbles to Four-Day Low Against Dollar Amid Hawkish Fed Comments
The British Pound has declined for the fourth consecutive trading day against the US Dollar, dropping by 0.21% to 1.3213 after reaching a daily high of 1.3256.
This decline comes as Federal Reserve officials remain hawkish and US jobs data shows the strength of the labor market, fueling demand for the Dollar.
The rise in global bond yields is also contributing to the Pound's weakness, with the US 10-year Treasury yield up 5 basis points to 5.162%.
Federal Reserve officials such as New York Fed John Williams and Philadelphia Fed Anna Paulson have hinted at further rate hikes to combat inflation, which has added to the Dollar's appeal.
