Pro Medicus Sees Record Year Despite Currency Headwinds
Pro Medicus CEO Dr Sam Hupert shared insights into the company's FY26 performance in an annual interview. The company saw its second-highest year for new contract acquisitions and busiest implementation period, with six major contract renewals completed.
Currency fluctuations had a significant impact on Pro Medicus' revenue and net profit after tax (NPAT), reducing it by nearly $12 million and $9.8 million respectively due to a stronger Australian dollar.
However, on a constant currency basis, the company achieved over 32% NPAT growth in FY26. The Visage platform serves approximately 11% of the US market, including 11 of the top 20 US healthcare institutions.
The AI-driven reporting platform is operational in Europe and scheduled for a US launch in the first half of calendar 2027. Pro Medicus employs hedging strategies to mitigate currency risks, benefiting from a natural hedge since its largest cost base is in the United States.
