RBA Cash Rate Expected to Reach Highest Level Since Late 2011
The Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) is widely expected to raise its cash rate by 25 basis points to 4.60% at its meeting on Tuesday, September 29.
A Reuters poll found that all but one of the 34 economists surveyed expect the move, with a cumulative tightening in 2026 reaching 100 basis points.
This would be the RBA's fourth hike this year and lift the cash rate to its highest level since late 2011.
