RBA Demands 100,000 More Australians Lose Their Jobs For Interest Rate Reprieve
The Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) has revealed that interest rates may stay on hold for now, but at what cost? Governor Michelle Bullock stated that another 100,000 people need to lose their jobs in the next few months. This is in addition to the recent unemployment rate jump, which saw 15,000 more individuals out of work.
Bullock explained that this would help keep inflation under control and interest rates on hold until possibly the end of next year. When asked about the impact on ordinary Australians, Bullock simply stated 'Losing their job.'
