RBA Hikes Interest Rate to Near 15-Year High Amid Inflation Concerns
The Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) increased its interest rate to 4.60%, its highest level since October 2011, due to growing inflationary risks.
The RBA raised its cash rate target by 25 basis points, marking the central bank's fourth hike in 2026 after it started a tightening cycle earlier this year.
According to the RBA, some upside risks to inflation are materializing, including high global energy prices and artificial intelligence-driven demand for technology.
