Federal Treasurer Jim Chalmers has welcomed the Reserve Bank of Australia's (RBA) decision to leave interest rates at 4.35 per cent, saying it will take some pressure off Australians.

Chalmers emphasized that interest rates are just one factor contributing to housing prices, which are influenced by a complex interplay of factors.

He pointed out that dwelling commencements and completions are now growing, contrary to the situation when the current government first took office.
