The Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) will release minutes from its August Monetary Policy Board meeting on Tuesday, shedding light on the internal debate over whether to hike or hold interest rates.

The decision in August was a unanimous one, with the cash rate remaining at 4.35 percent for the second consecutive month following three hikes earlier this year.

RBA Governor Michele Bullock has already confirmed that both options were actively discussed during the meeting and that a further increase is 'quite possible.'

The minutes are expected to detail how the Board weighed the outlook, particularly with regards to upside inflation risks from elevated oil prices tied to the Iran conflict and Strait of Hormuz disruption.
