RBA Slams Brakes with Fourth Rate Hike in 2026
The Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) has raised the official cash rate to 4.60%, its highest level since November 2011.
This is the fourth rate hike in 2026, and borrowers can expect to pay more for their home loans.
The average borrower will be $427 a month worse off than they were at the start of the year, according to Finder's experts.
With inflation still elevated at 3.5% annual rate and underlying inflation at 3.6%, the RBA aims to reduce borrowing power and subsequently drive down inflation.
