RBC Advances Quantum Technologies Strategy with New Appointments and Partnerships

Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) has announced a comprehensive quantum program to drive innovation and enhance cybersecurity. The bank's quantum strategy includes the appointment of Dr. Elizabeth Iwasawa as Director of Quantum, who will lead a team of researchers and developers.

The initiative also involves two academic partnerships with the University of Waterloo's Institute for Quantum Computing and the University of Toronto. These partnerships aim to support the next generation of talent in quantum information science and quantum technologies.

RBC is implementing a comprehensive program designed to achieve quantum-safe client services in the next several years, including migration to post-quantum cryptography and quantum key distribution for secure communications.
