RBC Stock Trades Sideways Amid Technical Resistance

Royal Bank of Canada's (RY) stock is trading at C$295.1 on the day, marking a modest move higher.

The bank has partnered with Knot to allow cardholders to set RBC cards as default payments in-app, advancing its digital payment strategy.

First Citizens Bank & Trust Co. increased its stake in RBC by 24,757 shares valued at approximately $4 million, indicating sustained institutional interest and potential support for current investor sentiment.

Techincally, the stock is below both its MA-20 and MA-50 on the hourly chart but above its MA-200. Resistance is defined by the Ichimoku Kijun at C$295.52, which may act as a near-term ceiling.

In the short term, RY is expected to consolidate within the C$290 to C$300.2 price range, with a 33% probability for an upward move if it breaks through the C$295.52 resistance.
