Royal Bank of Canada is weighing the possibility of blocking Muse, Meta Platform Inc.’s widely used AI agent, from accessing its customer data. The bank’s CEO, Dave McKay, confirmed this during a Bloomberg Television interview on Tuesday. He emphasized the need to safeguard customer information, stating, "It’s something I’m thinking about, absolutely." However, McKay noted that no final decision has been made yet.
The potential move comes amid growing concerns over data privacy and security in the financial sector. McKay highlighted the bank’s responsibility to protect customer data, adding, "You have to protect that customer and then we’re liable for that as an organization." This reflects broader industry debates about balancing innovation with risk management.
