RBNZ Leader Departure Triggers Leadership Overhaul
RBNZ's Assistant Governor Karen Silk is set to depart in mid-December after nearly two years of service. Reflecting on her time at the Reserve Bank, she said it has been a 'privilege' to serve alongside colleagues who care deeply about New Zealanders' wellbeing and prosperity.
Silk will remain in her role until December 15th and participate in the upcoming monetary policy decision. During this transition period, Governor Anna Breman is reviewing the shape of the Executive Leadership Team and establishing two new Assistant Governor roles to strengthen leadership capacity.
The changes aim to clarify accountabilities and support closer coordination across core responsibilities. Dr. Breman thanked Silk for her significant contribution and expressed appreciation for her work on monetary policy, financial markets, cash, and payments.
