Revolut Lands French Banking License Amid Expansion Plans
Revolut has secured a full banking license for its French entity, Revolut Bank S.A. (RBSA), after a joint assessment by the Autorité de Contrôle Prudentiel et de Résolution (ACPR) and the European Central Bank.
The license was announced on August 10, 2026, and gives Revolut a second regulated banking hub in continental Europe, alongside its Lithuanian entity.
Nik Storonsky, CEO and co-founder of Revolut, framed the license as 'foundational infrastructure' for the company's expansion into Western European markets.
Revolut plans to invest over €1 billion in Western Europe and hire more than 600 people across its Western European markets. Its new Western European headquarters in Paris is set to open in 2027.
