Rial Reaches Record Low Amid Ongoing Conflict
Iran's economy is experiencing severe instability due to ongoing war in the region. The country's currency, the rial, has reached a new record low, with traders exchanging over 2.5 million rials for every U.S. dollar on Tuesday.
This decline marks a significant drop from just 27 days ago, when the rial hit its previous record of 2.2 million to the dollar on September 2. The currency has repeatedly reached new lows since the war began in February.
Iran's top diplomat, Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, stated that indirect negotiations with the United States are becoming 'more serious' in an effort to reopen the critical Strait of Hormuz.
