Ruble and Euro Recover in Kyrgyzstan's Exchange Rates
The exchange rates in Kyrgyzstan have changed as of October 1. The Russian ruble and euro have regained their positions after a recent decline, while the Kazakh tenge has decreased in value.
The ruble remains the most depreciated currency against the som since the beginning of 2026, down 5.56 percent. However, it has started to strengthen again, surpassing the mark of 1.04 soms. The official exchange rate of the National Bank of Kyrgyzstan is 1.0404 soms, with a 0.38 percent increase.
The euro also showed an increase in its exchange rate, up by 0.08 percent to 99.3111 soms. Meanwhile, the Kazakh tenge has decreased in value, down 0.4 percent to 0.1982 soms. The Chinese yuan and US dollar have remained relatively stable.
The average exchange rates at exchange points are: buying, 87.4 soms for the US dollar, 98.69 soms for the euro, 0.954 soms for the ruble, and 0.1755 soms for the tenge; selling, 87.8 soms for the US dollar, 99.66 soms for the euro, 1.059 soms for the ruble, and 0.2084 soms for the tenge.
The National Bank of Kyrgyzstan is responsible for setting the official exchange rates in the country. The exchange rates may vary at different locations, depending on various factors such as supply and demand.
