Rupee Edges Up Against Dollar Amid Global Market Cautiousness
The Pakistani rupee continued its slight gains against the US dollar, appreciating by 0.01% on Thursday to close at 277.72.
This marginal appreciation comes after a similar gain of Re0.03 against the greenback on Wednesday when the local unit settled at 277.75.
The global currency markets were relatively flat on Thursday, with the euro and sterling trading little changed at $1.1557 and $1.3469 respectively.
Oil prices rose however, with Brent crude futures gaining 83 cents or 1.04% to reach $80.28 a barrel by 1158 GMT.
