Rupee Falls 10 Paise as FII Outflows and Crude Oil Disruptions Weigh
The Indian rupee fell to a new low on Friday, opening at 95.54 against the US dollar before slipping to 95.55, down 10 paise from its previous close.
Market analysts attribute this decline to foreign institutional investor (FII) outflows and continued disruptions to global crude oil supplies.
The weakening of the US dollar and a decline in global crude oil prices to below USD 90 a barrel have helped limit a sharper fall in the domestic currency, but sustained disruptions remain a key factor influencing currency sentiment.
The rupee is expected to trade within a narrow range of 95.40 to 95.60 on Friday, with the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) protecting the upper end and oil importers buying at the lower end.
