Rupee Falls Against Dollar Amid Geopolitical Uncertainties
The Indian rupee weakened against the US dollar in early trade on Thursday, falling by 11 paise to 95.84. The decline was attributed to geopolitical uncertainties and a surge in crude oil prices.
Forex traders pointed out that foreign capital inflows failed to support the local currency due to selling pressure in the domestic equity market and a strengthening American currency.
The dollar index rose by 0.06% to 100.87, while Brent crude futures traded at $102.08 per barrel, down 0.97% from the previous day's level.
