Rupee Falls Amid Global Market Volatility
Currency exchange rates in Pakistan are closely watched by everyone from businesses to consumers and the government. The value of the Pakistani rupee (PKR) against major currencies like the US dollar (USD), euro, and British pound has far-reaching consequences for trade balances, inflation, remittances, and investment.
The exchange rates also affect foreign direct investment (FDI). A stable and predictable environment is more attractive to investors, reducing the risk of exchange rate losses. In Pakistan's open market, the USD strengthened against PKR with a buying rate of 277.9 and selling rate of 278.45 on September 16.
The euro (EUR) is trading at 321.56 for buying and 325.53 for selling, while the UK Pound Sterling (GBP) is at 375.59 and 379.78, respectively. The UAE Dirham (AED) is available at 75.6/76.43, and the Saudi Riyal (SAR) is at 73.95/74.5.
