Rupee Finds Temporary Relief Amid Steady Brent Crude Prices
The Indian rupee opened at 95.44 per US dollar on Thursday, August 27, after a slight weakening compared to its previous day's closing of 95.41.
This development comes as Brent crude prices steadied around $87, providing some relief to the currency market.
The rupee has been struggling due to continuous hedging demand from domestic corporations and irregular maturity of derivative contracts, exacerbated by high oil prices.
