Rupee Hits Fresh Low as Geopolitics and Oil Prices Take Toll
The Indian rupee began Thursday's trade under pressure, falling 11 paise to 95.84 against the US dollar.
This decline is attributed to geopolitical uncertainties that led to a sharp surge in crude oil prices and pushed US bond yields higher.
The greenback has gained strength with the dollar index trading at 100.87, up 0.06 per cent.
Oil prices have stabilized recently but rose again past $100 a barrel due to lack of diplomatic progress over West Asia peace talks.
