Rupee Holds Steady Against US Dollar Amid Ongoing Stability
The State Bank of Pakistan has released its Mark-to-Market Currency Rates for August 6, 2026. The Pakistani rupee held steady against the US Dollar (USD) in the ready market.
The USD was quoted at 277.7228, down just four paisas from last Tuesday's rate of 277.7732. Meanwhile, the Saudi Riyal (SAR) and UAE Dirham were firmer, trading at 73.9510 and 75.6202 respectively.
The Canadian Dollar edged up to 198.2248 from 197.8512, wiping nearly 37 paisas from importers' earlier respite. The British Pound (GBP) was marginally higher at 373.6900 from 373.6883.
The forward curve indicates a potential weakening of the rupee against the greenback over the next few months. The one-month dollar forward is pricing in another 68 paisas or so of weakening over 30 days, while the three- and six-month forwards are treading an uphill path.
