Rupee Maintains Stability Against Major Currencies in Open Market

The Pakistani rupee maintained its stability against major foreign currencies in the open market on August 5, 2026. The US dollar held below the Rs279 mark while the Euro and Pound continued to trade at elevated levels.

According to the exchange rates published by Daily Pakistan, the US dollar was being bought at Rs278.65 and sold at Rs279.9. The Euro stood at Rs309.4 for buying and Rs312 for selling, while the British pound (GBP) was available at Rs365.2 and Rs369, respectively.

The open market exchange rates showed that several currencies were trading at higher levels compared to previous days. The UAE dirham traded at Rs76.1 for buying and Rs77.05 for selling, while the Saudi riyal was quoted at Rs73.8 and Rs74.45. The Qatari riyal was listed at Rs75.88 for buying and Rs76.35 for selling.
