The Indian rupee opened higher at 95.01 per dollar on September 1, marking a gain of 16 paise compared to Monday's close of 95.17.

Finrex predicts that the rupee will stay within a range of 95 to 95.50 for the day.

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has increased its positioning in dollars, rising from $103 billion in June to $137 billion in July-2026, which is expected to keep the market bid on the dollar.

Exporters are advised to wait before selling dollars, while importers may seize buying opportunities as oil prices remain above $91.25 per barrel and the dollar index stands at 99.50 levels.
