Rupee Rebounds as Crude Prices Ease to $103 a Barrel
The Indian rupee made a significant recovery on Wednesday, closing at 95.83 against the US dollar after experiencing a near-96 level earlier in the morning trade.
This increase marks a 0.16% gain from the previous close of 95.98 against the greenback.
Crude prices played a key role in this recovery, easing to below $103 a barrel on Wednesday, down from near $108 seen earlier in the week.
The rupee's movement was also influenced by the Reserve Bank of India's possible intervention, with large public sector banks selling dollars in bouts. This action likely helped support the local currency, traders noted.
