Rupee Rises as Crude Oil Prices Plummet Amid US-Iran War Hopes
The Indian rupee has strengthened against the US dollar after crude oil prices fell sharply due to improved global risk sentiments and hopes of diplomatic talks to resolve the US-Iran war.
The rupee appreciated by 20 paise to close at 95.58 (provisional) against the US dollar on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, after Brent crude oil prices declined by 1.14% to $99.20 per barrel in futures trade.
Anuj Choudhary, Research Analyst at Mirae Asset Sharekhan, noted that the rupee is expected to trade with a positive bias on improved global risk sentiments and hopes of diplomatic talks to resolve the US-Iran war.
