Rupee Surges Against Dollar as Crude Oil Prices Tumble
The Indian rupee opened at 95.75 per dollar on September 22, after a decline in crude oil prices and US Treasury yields boosted risk sentiment.
Despite opening lower against the US dollar on Monday, the rupee gained 6 paise compared to its previous close of 95.81.
The Rupee's performance was attributed to good inflows from foreign capital for IPOs and bonds, as well as RBI selling. Brent crude prices were lower at $101.08 per barrel overnight, while the dollar index reached 100.39 levels.
