Sabah Seeks Stronger Ties with Canada through Trade and Investment
Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor has expressed hope that the state's ties with Canada can be strengthened through increased trade and investment cooperation. The Chief Minister welcomed Canadian High Commissioner to Malaysia Jodi Robinson at Menara Kinabalu in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, on Tuesday.
Hajiji briefed Robinson on Sabah's focus on the Blue Economy, particularly the potential of the aquaculture sector, which could be a collaboration opportunity for Canadian investors and partners. The Chief Minister also highlighted several industrial parks in Sabah that are ready to receive foreign investments, including Kota Kinabalu Industrial Park (KKIP), POIC Lahad Datu, Kudat Blue Economy Industrial Park, and Sipitang Oil & Gas Industrial Park (Sogip).
Hajiji expressed hope that Robinson's visit would open up more avenues for cooperation and Canadian investment in Sabah, contributing to the state's economic growth and development.
