Bangladesh head coach Salahuddin remains confident in Mustafizur Rahman's abilities as the team's death-overs specialist, despite a costly outing at the Asian Games. In two matches, Mustafiz took three wickets but conceded 84 runs at an alarming economy rate of 16.80.

Mustafiz has reached 163 wickets in 130 T20 internationals, drawing level with Sri Lanka's Wanindu Hasaranga. He is now tied for fifth place among bowlers in the format, behind New Zealand's Tim Southee (164), Ish Sodhi (165), England's Adil Rashid (171), and Afghanistan's Rashid Khan (197).

Salahuddin stated that even if Mustafiz fails further, he will likely continue to receive the team's backing. This confidence in the experienced pacer may be a surprise given his struggles at the Asian Games.
