Scotiabank Faces Stiff Competition as Earnings Beat Streak Enters Test
The Bank of Nova Scotia is set to report its fiscal third-quarter earnings before the bell on Tuesday, with analysts expecting it to post earnings per share (EPS) of $2.08 Canadian dollars on revenue of $9.97 billion.
This would mark sequential improvement from the prior quarter's EPS of $2.02 and revenue of $9.84 billion, representing a 4% increase in both metrics.
The bank has maintained its four-quarter beat streak, matching the performance of Canada's other major lenders.
However, the gap between actual and estimated earnings is narrowing at Scotiabank, suggesting analysts are catching up to the bank's operating momentum and raising the bar for another upside surprise.
