September Hiring Holds Steady at 90,000 Payroll Boost
Economists predict that nonfarm payrolls rose about 90,000 in September, following a strong prior month. The unemployment rate is expected to remain at a one-year low of 4.1%. This hiring trend can be attributed to an extended pace of capital spending and improved consumer spending.
The Federal Reserve has focused on inflation since the economy itself has driven stronger hiring. A report released this week shows that personal spending increased by 0.5% in August, a significant advance in over a year.
This release also includes the Fed's preferred inflation gauges, which are projected to quicken from last month.
