The median estimate for September's nonfarm payrolls is 90,000, which would be lower than the previous month but still above the trailing 12-month average of 50,300.
This projection is based on 27 estimates collected by FactSet, ranging from a low of 60,000 to a high of 130,000. The spread between these estimates has narrowed compared to recent months, with a range of 70,000.
Meanwhile, the median estimate for the unemployment rate in September is 4.1%, which would match the previous month's number and be below the trailing 12-month average of 4.3%. The actual numbers reflect revised figures, not the original numbers published on the day of the report.
